It is reported that the former Liverpool and Hamburg striker has fallen out of favor with the Newcastle board after disagreements over the club's transfer policy.
"Newcastle can confirm that meetings between members of the Board and manager Kevin Keegan were held both yesterday and today." Read a statement on the club's official website.
Despite the current crisis at the club the board denied that Keegan was sacked, adding that the manager was just called for emergency talks over two days.
"Kevin has raised number of issues and those have been discussed with him. However and for the avoidance of doubt the club has not sacked Kevin Keegan as a manager."
The manager who is nicknamed 'The Messiah' by the Newcastle faithful is currently at his second spell at the club after previously leading The Toon Army from 1992 until 1997.
