Ittihad goalkeeper Al-Hani Soliman is delighted by the 'achievement' of earning an Egypt call-up, ahead of the 2010 World Cup qualifier at DR Congo.

The 24-year-old was surprisingly included in Hassan Shehata's preliminary squad at the expense of Egypt's number two Mohamed Abdul-Monsef.

"For a goalkeeper, it is a great achievement to be called to the national team at the age of 24, because we have many big names in that position," Soliman told FilGoal.com.

"It is an honor to be here with these players, I think this is a big opportunity for me, and I will do my best to take full advantage of it. I worked hard for that."

Soliman, who started the season as second-choice with Ittihad, was given the nod by Taha Basri after Samir Ashour's poor show in the league opener with Masri.

The promising guardian was linked with a move to Ahli last season, following his heroics in a league game against the Reds in Alexandria.
