Tottenham Hotspur new striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has honestly stated his happiness to see Dimitar Berbatov leave White Harte Lane to join Manchester United.

Pavlyuchenko joined Spurs from Spartak Moscow in a deal worth ₤14 million on Sunday, and with Berbatov's departure the 26-year-old is set to guarantee a first team place within Spurs' attack.

"I can't really say anything about Berbatov leaving. Let them all go then I'll play. It's good for me," Pavlyuchenko was quoted as saying by TheSun on Thursday.

After selling Jermaine Defoe to Portsmouth last January, Spurs boss Juande Ramos offloaded other strikers Robbie Keane and Berbatov to Liverpool and United respectively.

Now Pavlyuchenko will be left with the mission of leading Tottenham's offence alongside Darren Bent, and the Russian is delighted to be handled such task by Ramos.

"I've talked to Juande Ramos. He's a nice man, he said he's going to reply upon me. He played quite a big role in my transfer."
