Fiorentina and AS Roma have joined Real Madrid in chasing Bayern Munich’s want-away striker Lukas Podolski, claimed reports in the German and Italian press.

Bild have revealed that Bernd Schuster is preparing a €20m bid in order to bring Poldi to the Bernabeu when the transfer window re-opens in January.

The German tactician is short in strikers after the departure of Soldado and Julio Baptista.

Meanwhile Corriere dello Sport revealed on Monday that Serie A sides Fiorentina and AS Roma have joined the race to sign the 23-year old forward.

Podolski spent most of the past season in the shadows of Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni, and things didn't get better this season as new coach Jurgen Klinsmann keeps him as a third choice.

The German golden boy made recently no secret of his desire to leave the Bavarian giants as he wants to secure regular football.
