The Egyptian international, who joined Wigan from Zamalek on a season-long loan, made an immediate impact in the elite competition.
He scored three goals in as many Premiership games and earned plaudits for some dazzling displays with the Latics.
Zaki, who will have to cope under the weight of growing expectations, is aiming high.
"I want to be the Premiership's number one striker," he told his website.
"I also dream of becoming the competition's top scorer. I hope I would be able to make this achievement one day."

The 25-year-old said he wishes to repay Wigan fans for supporting him since his arrival at the JJB stadium.
Zaki is keen to help Steve Bruce's men win their first major competition in history.
"I want to repay Wigan fans by helping the team claim either the FA Cup or the Carling Cup."
"I also aim to help Wigan finish in a good position in the Premiership."
