Dynamos sprung an upset by beating ASEC in Abidjan, thanks to a last-gasp strike from Philip Marufu.
Bi Cyriac Gohi's goal for ASEC in the 73rd minute cancelled out Marufu's opener nine minutes after the break.
The result ensured Ahli's progress to the semi-finals. The Red Devils, who face arch-rivals Zamalek on Sunday, lie on top of Group A with 10 points.
They have an unassailable six-point advantage over third-placed ASEC, who have one match remaining in the group stage.
Ahli need a point in their last two games to make sure they will qualify as the group winners.
Zamalek, despite being at the bottom on four points, still have a chance to join their compatriots to the semis.
Just two points separate them from second-placed Dynamos, whom they face in Harare in their last group game.
