Zamalek will be boosted by the news that influential duo Mahmoud Fathallah and Junior Agogo have been declared fit to face Dynamos Harare on Sunday.

Both players suffered from knee problems that diminished their chances of taking part in the crucial Champions League game.

But Zamalek doctor Mostafa Al-Monairi revealed that Egypt defender Fathallah and Ghana striker Agogo are fit to participate in the match.

“Fathallah’s pains are over. He came through today’s training session unscathed,” Al-Monairi told Zamalek’s official website on Thursday.

“Agogo’s knee problems are down to exhaustion, but that will not prevent him from playing against Dynamos.”

The news must have come as a relief to Zamalek’s German coach Reiner Hollmann.

Hollmann will already miss Egypt’s sweeper Hani Saied, who has been ruled out with a thigh injury, so he will get a much-needed boost after the return of Fathallah.

Forward Gamal Hamza, Hollmann’s preferred option alongside Agogo upfront, will miss the match due to suspension.

Zamalek need to beat Zimbabwe’s Dynamos in Harare and hope arch-rivals Ahli don’t lose against ASEC Mimosas if they are to secure a semi-final berth.
