Two Manchester City scouts were in Spain to watch Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero play against Getafe on September 24th, Marca reported on Thursday.

After buying out Manchester City last month, Abu Dhabi united group have shown interest in signing hot shots like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Lionel Messi, and now Aguero is the latest addition to their shopping list.

The Argentine youngster has been a revelation at Atletico, scoring 28 times for the Madrid outfit since arriving from Independiente in 2006 and City are now the latest side queuing to lure him.

However, Atletico officials confirmed that despite the scouting mission, no formal approach was made by City for the 20-year-old attacker.

"There is no news on this subject, neither City nor any other club have contacted us about Aguero and Atletico is not interested in seeing the exit of this player," a club source told Sky Sports.

Signing Aguero won’t be an easy task for City as Italian giants AC Milan and Inter already showed interest in bringing the player to Serie A.
