Enyimba hold out Champions League hope
Enyimba chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu stressed that his team is capable of turning their home draw with Ahli into a win over The Mighty Reds in Cairo's return leg.

Despite being held to a goalless draw by Ahli on Sunday in the CAF Champions League semi final first leg, Agwu still believes Enyimba can reach the final.

"I know we have a big task ahead of us, but this is the type of situation that brings out the best of Enyimba," Agwu was quoted as saying by Nigerian paper Vanguard.

"The Spartan spirit of Enyimba will see us through. I know that people might be skeptical about my optimism but the end will justify everything."

Agwu refused to rule out Enyimba's chances adding that his team were facing one of the toughest clubs in the continent.

"It is not out of place if one says that we played against the Egyptian national team. Remember what I told you. People will ask us how we did it after the return leg."

Meanwhile, Enyimba's coach Agustin Eguavoen said he wasn’t sad with his players' display despite them failing to achieve a positive home result.

"I am not disappointed with the play of the players but I am disappointed that we could not get a goal," said Eguavoen.

“We are going to work hard for the second leg. I tell you we can get a good result as anything can happen in Cairo."
