The 34-year-old Brazilian decided to call it a day on his European career, after almost eight seasons in Germany with Bayern and Leverkusen.
"I think that my time here is over. I would like to play for a further two years elsewhere," he told Kicker magazine.
"I’ve already played a number of years in the Bundesliga."
It is believed that Bayern have offered Ze Roberto a recent extension as he has been a regular performer for Jurgen Klinsmann's side so far this season.
The versatile midfielder scored twice in Bayern's latest 3-3 Bundesliga draw with Bochum. He also netted the equalizer in the team's 1-1 Champions League draw with Lyon last week.
Ze Roberto's next destination is likely to be the U.S, after he has hinted earlier that he might be looking to finish his career there.
