Club president Christian Constantin told Le Matin newspaper that the board is considering approaching Neuchatel officials with the idea of exchanging coaches.
It is worth noting that Stielike formerly coached Neuchatel while Clausen played for Sion from 1989 until 1994.
Sion are suffering a bad league spell and last week's 5-0 defeat at the hands of Young Boys prompted Constantin with the idea of replacing Stielike.
