The 25-year-old once again made the headlines, but this time with a unique brace in Wigan’s 3-2 loss to title contenders Liverpool.
The Mansoura-born footballer has been intensively acclaimed by the British mass media after revealing further extraordinary capabilities during his first visit to Anfield.
To the Reds’ utter astonishment, Zaki notched the first goal when he cunningly dispossessed defender Daniel Agger and slid the ball home past Jose Reina, who failed to stop the out-of the-blue attempt.
Later on, the hyperactive striker acrobatically volleyed from the edge of the box a spectacular overhead kick into the back corner of the net, to prove that he’s pretty equivalent to the most skillful players in the elite competition.
Praiseworthy
The British Media heaped praise on the sensational forward after producing his greatest performance ever.
English newspaper The Independent described Zaki’s second strike as an accurately-improvised poem, and chose it as the best moment of the game.
Furthermore, Wigan official website mentioned that the robust striker has tucked in his best goal since he joined the Latics on a season-long deal from Zamalek.
The site also assured Wigan fans will get to watch and enjoy Zaki’s magnificent European-style goal dozens of times, as it will be frequently replayed on T.V.
Apart from the press, ISB commentator deeply admired the scissor-kick goal, saying it couldn’t have been executed any better.
The international attacker was also named man of the match by British newspaper The Times, as his grade surpassed Dirk Kuyt's, although the latter scored a double as well.
The widely-spread publication gave Zaki nine points for his scintillating performance, whereas the Dutchman got only eight.
The same paper, along with The Telegraph, have both vouched that Liverpool’s recent interest in Wigan attacker Emile Heskey should rather be diverted to Zaki after the latter's extraordinary show.
The paper also speculated that Zaki, the current premiership top scorer, will draw the attention of many other high-profile clubs.
Zaki is proving everyday that his brilliant Premiership stardom is just the beginning, as the player is determined to prove he's no fluke or just having few lucky weeks.
