The Pharaohs were seeded first in the draw which was held at the International Football Association's (FIFA) headquarters in Zurich on Wednesday.
Other groups will witness strong competition for Arab countries like Morocco who have been drawn in the same group against Cameroon and Tunisia who will face Nigeria.
While the first three places of each group will qualify to the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola, winners of each group will directly qualify to the same year's World Cup in South Africa.
It is worth noting that the first round of the World Cup qualifiers will kick off in March 2009.
The five final phase qualifying groups:
Group A: Morocco, Togo, Gabon, Cameroon.
Group B: Mozambique, Kenya, Nigeria, Tunisia.
Group C: Egypt, Zambia, Rwanda, Algeria.
Group D: Benin, Sudan, Mali, Ghana.
Group E: Malawi, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Ivory Coast.
