Ahli Dubai midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou expressed his sadness at the intensive jeers he received from the fans during the last game of the UAE League.

Abd-Rabou was resentfully booed during the 1-0 victory over Al-Jazeera amid rumors that he might be leaving the club to play in the Premiership in January.

"My teammates stood by me firmly, and told me not to pay attention to such provocative chants from the minority of our fans" Abd-Rabou told Al-Ittihad newspaper.

"The situation could've been a lot worse if it wasn’t for my colleagues' help."

The Egyptian, who hasn't fit in quite well since joining the Emirate side on a loan from Ismaili in the summer said he needs more time to adapt with life in the UAE.

The versatile player was named the man of the match despite the heavy taunts.

In the meantime, Ahli president Khalifa Soliman played down rumors that Premier League side Blackburn Rovers have made an offer for the Egyptian footballer.

Moreover, coach Evan Hatchek said his recently-signed player is a main pillar in the team, asserting he has not intention whatsoever to let him go.

Previous reports claimed Turkish club Trabzonspor are also holding talks with Ismaili and Ahli to acquire Hosni's services
