The Rossoneri took the lead courtesy of a Filippo Inzaghi strike, before Simone Vergassola drew for the visitors, and Ancelotti was happy that Milan bounced back with a Kaka penalty.
“I saw the right reaction after Siena drew level. I have to say we played better than against Atalanta and are clearly improving," Ancelotti was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia.
“Everyone in the team did their duty, but it was a difficult game. We had a fairly sluggish start and then picked up the pace."
The win moved Milan above city rivals Inter in the league table; however Ancelotti said he is more focused on winning the Schudetto rather topping their arch rivals.
“It is not important to be in front of Inter. What does matter is being in a strong position and that on Sunday we have the opportunity to overtake leaders Napoli.”
Meanwhile, Siena coach Marco Giampaolo ….at the spot kick that handed Milan the home win, adding that his team's performance earned them at least a draw.
“I saw the replay and the penalty was totally invented. I don’t want to protest, though, because it is pointless.
“I am very bitter. To lose after such a positive performance really hurts and we deserved a different result."
