Adams wants Vieira at Pompey

"He is definitely a player I'd like to bring here if he was available," Adams told the Sunday Mirror.

"I will be speaking to Inter manager Jose Mourinho and asking about him.

"With Patrick you know what you are getting - he is a proven winner and a great character."

Vieira, who scored in Inter's 3-2 at Reggina on Saturday, is en route to regaining his form and fitness, following a series of injury setbacks.

The French veteran missed EURO 2008 due to injury, which prompted a slow start to the current season under Mourinho.
