The Ahli player, whose contract with the Cairo giants will expire by the end of this season, is currently on loan at Ittihad Jeddah in the Saudi League.
"Meteb received bids from two Premiership clubs, and we are hoping Ittihad officials will let the player move to England in January," the player's agent told FilGoal.com.
"However, if Ittihad refuse the approaches, Meteb will postpone his plans of moving to Europe until the end of the season."
The agent added that the impressive form of Amr Zaki with Wigan Athletic and Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' with Middlesbrough prompted other clubs to bid for Meteb.
Zaki is the Premiership's top scorer so far in the season with eight goals while Mido is his team's top marksman with four, a record which enforced a solid reputation for Egyptian strikers among Premiership clubs.
Meteb has also proved himself in the Saudi league by scoring five times for Ittihad since his loan move from Ahli in August.
