The Egyptian National Sports Council (NSC) are set to convene today (Thursday) to make a decision regarding the current appointed Zamalek board headed by Mamdouh Abbas.

The Council are facing a tough situation after former Zamalek president Mortada Mansour won a law suit claiming the illegality of Abbas' presidency.

Mansour was axed by head of NSC Hassan Saqr and replaced by the appointed Abbas in 2006.

NSC tried to appeal the court's decision of reinstating Mansour as Zamalek's elected president, but the appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court.

The Council are expected to form a temporary committee to take over Zamalek until the club's presidential elections in July 2009.

Members of the committee won't be taking part in the upcoming election to ensure their objectivity in running the club over the next few months.
