Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has negatively responded to Arsene Wenger's comments that his team play harmful aggressive football.

Following the Gunners' defeat to stoke at the Britannia on Saturday, Wenger said that Stoke's intentional recklessness resulted in the injuries of Theo Walcott and Emmanuel Adebayor.

"We have to accept that if you beat certain teams they're not going to take it that well. There are people who are good losers and others who are bad losers," Pulis told Sky Sports News.

Pulis confirmed that he is concerned Wenger's comments might tag his team with a bad image.

"The worry for me is that the perception of us being a dirty team will affect the judgment of referees.

"I'm hoping and praying that the perception of our football club and our team will not be one of being a dirty team."

The Welsh tactician added that sometimes players get caught in the heat of Premiership football, but that doesn’t mean they deliberately harm opponents.

"I will never change that. We are what we are. We have to be competitive to survive at this level. Competitive and dirty are two different things."
