The game kicked off to a quick start and Chievo had appeals for a penalty ruled out by the referee in the first minute, after the ball hit Thiago Mendes' hand in the Juve box.
Sergio Pellissier could have opened the score line for Domenico Di Carlo on his first game as Chievo coach, but the winger volleyed wide from Mauro Esposito's cross.
The Old Lady could have paid a heavy price for Olof Mellberg's mistake, but Alex Manninger rushed out of his goal to clear the ball and save the Swede's blushes.
On 39 minutes, Mario Yepes made the deadly error of handling Juventus a free kick on the edge of the box. Del Piero confidently stepped up and produced a copycat effort to the one he scored against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Just before halftime, Mohamed Sissoko escaped a red card when he kicked Yepes after the ball was played. The referee missed the incident before Sissoko was substituted at the interval.
In the second half, Andrea Mantovani handled the ball in the Chievo box in a desperate attempt to stop Iaquinta from bringing down Del Piero's ball.
Iaquinta's initial effort from the spot was saved by Stefano Sorrentino before the former successfully capped on the rebound.
The away win is Juve's fourth in a row, and the revival has moved the Bianconeri to sixth position with 21 points, while Chievo remain in 19th with six.
