The Senegalese made his first Premier League appearance of the season in Saturday's goalless draw between the Latics and Stoke City when he replaced Emile Heskey in the second half.
With veteran striker Heskey out through injury, Camara should play regular first-team football alongside Egypt striker Zaki, who has become one of the most fearsome strikers in England.
"We’ve played together once before, against Notts County, and it resulted in three goals from us," Camara told Wigan's official website.
The 31-year-old is expected to partner Zaki upfront when Wigan face Arsenal in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.
"Obviously the opposition on Tuesday is different but we struck up a good understanding whereby he was the anchorman and I was able to buzz around him."
