Despite suffering from an ankle injury, Zamalek keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef is fighting to regain full fitness ahead of the Cairo derby against Ahli on November 22nd.

"The coaching staff gave me two days rest ending on Wednesday, after that I'll be doing my best to be ready for the Ahli clash," Abdul-Monsef told FilGoal.com

Zamalek medical staff chief Mostafa Al-Monayeri added that further scans on the goalie's ankle will determine his participation against Ahli.

Abdul-Monsef's injury denied him from taking part in Tuesday's friendly against Iron and Steel where the Whites won 3-1.

Zamalek will face arch-rivals Ahli for the fourth time this season, after the Cairo neighbors clashed twice in the CAF Champions League and in the Egyptian Super Cup.
