Olympic have officially announced the appointment of Mohamed Helmi as the club's new coach, following the sacking of Moushir Osman after a poor run of results.

Club board have decided to part ways with Osman, after a dismal form, that left the team second from bottom of the table with just eleven points.

Board member Ibrahim Al-Sheikh told FilGoal.com on Wednesday that terminating Osman's contract was done in a professional manner due to the club's good relations with the former Baladeya coach.

Meanwhile, Helmi expressed his optimism about the club's future under his guidance.

"Olympic are well capable of avoiding relegation this season. All we need is a little bit of luck," Helmi told FilGoal.com.

"We can climb out of our bad position in the table, as all bottom teams are close on points and performances."

The former Zamalek assistant is set to start his mission with Olympic after the team's friendly game against Stia on Wednesday.
