The Pharaohs were drawn in the competition's Group B, alongside the United States of America, and multiple World Champions Italy and Brazil.
"Of course it's a very tough group. Brazil are five-time world champions and Italy are four. American football has also improved a lot over the last few years, "Gomaa told Modern Sport TV.
"However, we will have a bigger motive to prove ourselves, which will be a great advantage.
"We have many young players, who want to show the world what they are capable of."
Gomaa added that past experiences proved that Egypt can produce impressive displays in big tournaments.
"Meeting big teams like Brazil and Italy in the Confederations Cup will be very useful in preparing the team for the 2010 World Cup qualification final phase.
Egypt will be facing Algeria, Zambia and Rwanda in the qualification's final group stage kicking off in March 2009.
