AS Roma skipper Francesco Totti scord a second half screamer to hand his team a 1-0 win over Fiorentina in the Italian league on Sunday.

The win continues Roma's revival, as it came on the background of beating Lazio, Lecce as well as FC Cluj in the UEFA Champions League.

The game had a very eventful start, and just 40 second on, Juan could have scored for the home side after latching onto Danile De Rossi's free kick, but the Brazilian headed over.

A minute later, Alxenadre Doni in the Roma goal had to dive at full stretch to punch Adrian Mutu's free kick over.

Fiorentina later hit the woodwark through Mario Santana , who was released by a clever Mutu through pass.

Roma were unlucky not to score on 40 minutes, when Matteo Brighi's header from another De Rossi cross hit the post before desperately bouncing across the goal line.

It was not until the hour mark when Roma finally took the lead. Totti connected well with a Rodrigo Raddei cross to fire beyond Sebastien Frey.

The win lifts Roma to fourteenth place with seventeen points, while Fiorentina are sixth with 23.

In another game, Inter maintained their position at the league summit by beating Napoli 2-1 at Giuseppe Meazza.

Colombian defender Ivan Cordoba put Inter up front on 16 minutes thanks to a powerful left-footed volley from inside the Napoli box.

Eight minutes later, Sully Muntari doubled Inter's lead by capping on a wonderful move which started by a Julio Cruz flick towards Douglas Maicon, who squared to Muntari before the Ghanaian connected with a back heel.

Napoli's only goal of the game came through Ezequiel Lavezzi, who produced a stunning strike past Julio Cesar on 36 minues.

The Nerrazzuri are now six points clear of Juventus in the lead, with Napoli in fourth spot on 24 points.
