Zamalek football director Ahmed Refaat confirmed that the club are not involved in the ongoing dispute between the newly signed striker Islam Magdi and the youngster's former club Ismaili.

Magdi, who made his way through Ismaili youth ranks before joining Emirate side Ras Al-Khaima last season, was signed by Zamalek last week.

"There's no wrongdoing whatsoever with our contract with Magdi. Additionally, we were not involved when he escaped Ismaili for Emirates," Refaat told FilGoal.com.

"The media are dragging us into conflicts, even if we have nothing to do with them."

Ismaili claimed that the player should return to the Dervishes as the 19-year-old left the club without the board's consent and Ras Al-Khaima didn’t pay anything for his services.
