Samaka surplus to Kazma requirements

Kazma coach Robertinho said Amr Samaka let him down by producing a poor display in the 2-2 Kuwaiti League draw with Nassr.

"Samaka did not repay the faith I put in him," the Brazilian manager told Kuwaiti paper Al-Alam Al-Youm.

"Nobody agreed with my decision to field him against Nassr, but I insisted to give him a chance.

"However, his performance was very bad. It is necessary for any professional player to make an impact from the very beginning, but that was not the case with Samaka."

The Egyptian playmaker failed to atone for a disastrous spell with Cairo giants Ahli.

Seeking to rejuvenate his career after being banned for failing a doping test in November 2006, Samaka joined Kazma.

The 25-year-old failed to establish himself as a regular starter at the four-time Kuwaiti champions.

Widespread reports indicated last summer that Samaka's days were numbered.

Belgian second-division side Lierse, who are owned by Egyptian businessman Maged Sami, were rumored to be interested in the player's services.

But Sami told FilGoal.com that Lierse are not planning to make a move for him.

"I read many reports that linked Lierse with several Egyptian players. Those reports are totally incorrect," he said.
