Jordanian press confirmed that their national team coach Eduardo 'Nelo' Vingada is placed on the top of Zamalek's wish list for the vacant managerial post.

FilGoal.com has learnt that Zamalek board contacted Vingada after parting ways with German coach Reiner Hollmann last week.

Vingada had a one-year stint with Zamalek in 2003-2004 and steered the Whites to their last league title till now.

Local daily 'Al-Arab Al-Youm' said that Vingada is sought by Zamalek "to restore their golden era."

'Al-Rai' newspaper reported that Vingada became Zamalek's top target as they seek to save their season.

Zamalek are sixth with 18 points from 11 games, 10 points adrift of leaders Petrojet, who played two more games.

Hollmann took over in the summer but failed to lead Zamalek past the group stage in the CAF Champions League.

Zamalek also couldn't beat their city-rivals Ahli in three games so far this season.

Vingada, on the other hand, is under heavy criticism in Jordan after the national team bowed out early from the World Cup qualifiers.

Local press reports said that Vingada could be sacked before the end of the year.
