CF Pachuca skipper Miguel Calero believes that his side's participation in the Club World Cup last year will help them pull off better results in this year's competition.

The CONCACAF champions are taking part in the elite championship for the second year running, and their first-choice keeper hopes his team would leave their mark this time around.

Calero echoed the sentiment of midfielder Cristian Gimenez, who had previously stated that Los Tuzos' men have been distinctly shored up.

"Now we are more experienced and mature, and this year we are going to produce much better displays than last year," the goalie told local press.

Last year, the Mexican outfit were disqualified from the competition's first round after losing 1-0 to Tunisia's Etoile Sahel.

"There are many indications that we can do better than last year and make our country proud," he added.

Pachuca are facing African champions Ahli in the First Round on Saturday, and the winners will take on Liga de Quito in the semi-final.

The Cairo giants, who are making a record third appearance in the Club World Cup after claiming the CAF Champions League title, are expected to be tough opponents against the Mexicans.
