"Abdul-Aziz will not wear the armband again," Zamalek football director Ahmed Refaat told FilGoal.com.
Refaat added that Abdul-Aziz will also be fined up to EGP 50.000 pending on a board meeting.
Zamalek suffered their fourth defeat of the season on Monday when they slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Al-Hodoud in Cairo.
Abdul-Aziz was not in the 18-man squad for the game and Refaat said the Egyptian international refused to report at the Cairo International Stadium.
"I told him he should support his teammates even if he wasn't selected to start. But he refused to even show up," Refaat added.
A product of Zamalek youth ranks, the 30-year-old holding midfielder rejoined the club last summer after eight years in the Turkish League.
He was named as Zamalek captain as former skipper Hazem Emam retired from football after winning the Egyptian Cup last season.
Refaat said he hasn't decided yet on the new captain.
International goalkeeper Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed, who wears the armband in the absence of Abdul-Aziz, is likely to take over.
Al-Sayed was tipped to be permanent captain after Emam's retirement but re-signing Abdul-Aziz, who played senior football first, blocked his appointment.
