Pachuca coach Enrique Meza said he was confident his side can overcome African champions Ahli and advance to the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals.

"We are determined to win, because we have waited 12 months to return to Japan," Meza told a press conference at the Tokyo National Stadium on Friday morning.

Pachuca have already lost to a CAF champion, Etoile Sahel of Tunisia, in the 2007 edition, and Meza said his team will make sure they learn from their mistake.

"Ahli are the African champions, we respect them, but we are not afraid of them," he said. "We know they have good ball handling and excellent technique, but we will be playing our own game."

When FilGoal.com's reporter asked him which Ahli players he considers dangerous, Meza said: "We have watched Ahli play and we know that their entire team are dangerous, no one is more dangerous than the other."

Meza was adamant about pointing out that his side is here to represent Mexico in the best possible way, especially that his side and Club America both failed to make an impact in the last two tournaments.

"Losing is a thing of the past," Meza said. "We have learned from our previous mistakes."

Pachuca take on Egyptian giants Ahli on in the first quarter-final in Tokyo on Saturday.
