Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is convinced that his team can defeat Premier League leaders Liverpool when both sides clash on Sunday.

"I think we can beat Liverpool," the Frenchman told Sky Sports.

The Gunners lie fifth in the Premiership table with 30 point, eight adrift of the Reds, who are closely followed by second-placed Chelsea.

Manchester united, who lie third, are six points behind Rafael Benitez's men, and yet, Wenger believes the point margins among the top three are relatively negligible.

"There's no big difference between Liverpool and the other two clubs. They're far away from us in the table but not far away from the other two," he added.

Revenge

In the same manner, striker Emmanuel Adebayor revealed that his teammates are eager to lay to rest the ghost of their UEFA Champions League elimination last year.

Arsenal were ousted from Europe's premier competition after losing to the Red side 5-3 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.

"Last season Liverpool broke our dreams. Is there unfinished business? Sure," the Togolese footballer said.

"If we can get everyone working together then we have a great chance to beat them. We know how big Sunday is for the club and we are ready for it."
