Adelaide United coach Aurelio Vidmar said he is happy his team overcame a strong and respectable team like Ahli.

The Australians beat Ahli 1-0 in the Club World Cup on Thursday, to clinch the competition's fifth spot.

"Ahli are a very clever side. They have a lot of tactical and technical potential," Vidmar said after the game.

"They were passing as much as 15 passes without losing the ball."

Vidmar also added that Ahli gain a lot of experience from playing in the Egyptian Premier League.

"The Egyptian and the Japanese leagues are way more competitive than their Australian counterpart."

It is worth noting that Adelaide lost 1-0 to Gamba Osaka in the World up second round.
