Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said that Emmanuel Adebayor's sending off cost his team two valuable points against Liverpool on Sunday.

At the Emirates stadium, Arsenal took the lead through Robin van Persie. However, the Gunners had to settle for a draw after Robbie Keane equalized for Liverpool late in the first half.

Adebayor was sent off after the interval, and Wenger is convinced that the dismissal was a key factor in denying his team a home win.

"I believe that staying with 11 men we would have won this game. I was sure that in the final 30 minutes we would win the game," Wenger said after the game.

"I think it was the wrong decision. I would love to have sendings off like that at home when we get kicked off the park.

Cautious Liverpool

The French tactician blamed Liverpool for their defensive approach, even when his team were playing with one man down.

"I am not sure why they did not try to win given we had 10 men. Did they have no more resources or were they scared to lose on the break?

The Reds are currently top of the Premiership table with 39 points and one more game than second-placed Chelsea, who will face Everton later on Monday.

"I think Liverpool will drop many more points. They have had four draws at home and why not believe they could do that again?

"That is why I think they will drop many more in the second half of the season.

Fabregas loss

Wenger didn’t seem too worried about midfielder Cesc Fabregas' injury, after the Spaniard was taken off at half-time because of a knee injury.

"It's a medial knee ligament injury. I don't know how long he will be out. It is difficult to assess; it could be one week or three weeks."

Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier league with 31 points from after 18 games.
