Werder Bremen are nearing the inclusion of club legend Ailton as a scout, German newspaper Bild revealed.
The Brazilian striker, who is yet to hang up his boots as he's currently playing with Rheindorf Altach in the Austrian league, welcomed the idea of returning to the club he made his Bundesliga reputation with.
"I know exactly what Bremen needs. I already have a list of very good Brazilian youngsters, who can do well with the club," Ailton said.
"I knew that Carlos Alberto wouldn’t do well for Bremen. If they consulted me on the matter before they signed him, I'd have asked them not to do it."
Alberto joined Bremen from Porto last season, but he turned out to be a flop after a number of disciplinary problems at the club.
Ailton played for Bremen from 1998 until 2004, where he scored 88 goals in 169 games for the club.
