The Dervishes were surprisingly ousted by their second-division opponents, thanks to a Hussein Farouk strike for Dakhlia.
"We were shocked by the defeat, but Cup games always hold surprises," Galal told FilGoal.com.
"I don’t want to solely blame the players for the defeat. All of us including the technical staff didn’t prepare enough for the game."
Galal added that Ismaili players vowed to make up for the cup exit by going all the way to the final of the Arab Champions League (ACL).
Ismaili will be flying to Algeria on Thursday to meet USMA Algiers in the ACL last 16 round first leg game on Sunday.
