Ittihad are close to landing former Zamalek player Awuley Quay Junior in the January transfer window.

Team coach Taha Basri is keen to bolster his squad with new signings this winter, ahead of the Egyptian Premier League reverse fixtures.

The Ghanaian forward is expected to arrive at the Alexandria-based club with compatriot Abass Anoushwa, as both will be handed trials.

"Both players are arriving on Thursday along with agent Mounir Hassan," assistant coach Yehia Ismail told FilGoal.com.

During his days with Zamalek, Junior couldn't impress and spent most of his spell as a substitute.

Newcomers

Basri's men have recently snapped up Gaish's Hassan Mousa, who has already joined his new team's trainings.

Ismail assured that only the coaching staff are entitled to set a wish list, saying there are so many rumors surrounding this winter's transfers.

"Some media reports linked several players with imminent moves to Ittihad, but most of these allegations are baseless," he said.

"Apart from an African striker, we are only targeting Masri's Mohamed Gaber, Baladeya's Mohamed Nagib and ENPPI's Mohamed Younes."
