Ahmed Abou-Mosallam said PAOK Saloniki will either sign him or land a Portuguese player in the January transfer window.

The Egyptian left-back has been given a one-week trial by Greek side PAOK as he seeks to depart French club Strasbourg due to lack of first-team opportunities.

"PAOK coach Fernando Santos believes that I'm good enough to join his club," Abou-Mosallam told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.

"However, he is yet to decide whether to sign me or not because he still monitors another Portuguese player who plays in my position.

"Coach Santos will eventually choose one of us to sign when the transfer window opens."

Abou-Mosallam recently revealed that two Egyptian sides, which he refused to name, are interested in acquiring his services.

"If my move to PAOK fells through, I will return to the Egypt," the 27-year-old concluded.

Abou-Mosallam joined Strasbourg from Egyptian champions Ahli in 2005.

He struggled to play first-team football during the past few months, a situation that prompted him to consider moving on in order to regain his place in Egypt's squad.
