The France full-back suffered an Achilles tendon injury in August and has been struggling since then to start a successful rehabilitation program.

"Sagnol is feeling a lot of pain. He's yet to train with his teammates and can't even run properly," Klinsmann said.

Sagnol has earlier announced that he will hang up his boots in case he fails register a comeback from injury before the end of the current season.

Since moving to Bayern from Monaco in 2000, 31-year-old Sagnol won five Bundesliga titles, four German Cups and a UEFA Champions League trophy with the Bavarians.
