Middlesbrough striker Mido said that he had no idea about his club's advanced talks with Newcastle United regarding swapping the striker with the Magpies' Alan Smith.

The Sun earlier revealed that Boro were on the verge of concluding the deal, but Mido confirmed that he was kept in the dark about the whole transfer.

"I'm very angry no one informed me of the ongoing talks before today, and I made sure manager Gareth Southgate knows how I feel," Mido told FilGoal.com.

"I was told that Newcastle made an offer to buy me, and that Middlesbrough asked for Alan Smith as part of the deal taking me to St. James' Park."

The 25-year-old hit man also refuted rumors he wants to leave Middlesbrough, adding that he wants to stay and help the team improve their league position.

"I still haven’t made up my mind about moving."

"I've a lot of respect for the Middlesbrough fans. They've always supported me and I want to stay and repay their faith in me.

Mido already has a turbulent history with Newcastle fans, who directed racist chants against him on two separate occasions.

The nomad player has already played for Ajax Amsterdam, Marseille, Celta, Tottenham, AS Roma, before joining Middlesbrough in 2007.
