According to an earlier agreement between Ahli and Qatar, the latter were bound to release the 26-year-old ahead of the Cairo derby.
However, Yasser revealed that Ahli have consented him to a further stay, following a fresh request by the Qataris.
"Ahli accepted Qatar's request to keep me until the end of the Gulf Cup, so I am staying with the national team," the Egyptian-born forward told Hayat TV.
Ahli's crunch meeting with Zamalek clashes with Qatar's decisive Group B game against Gulf giants Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
The Maroons will hope to have Yasser back to full fitness after the diminutive frontman sustained a hamstring injury in the 0-0 draw with UAE last Thursday.
