AS Roma and AC Milan drew 2-2 in the Serie A thriller played in Rome on Sunday.

A brace from Mirko Vucinic (22,72) and a double strike from Milan forward Alexandre Pato (48, 53) earned each team a valuable point.

New Milan signing David Beckham was surprisingly given a debut Serie A start and played for 88 minutes.

The home side started the game on top, and they went ahead when Vucinic dummied Marek Janklovoski in the Milan box before producing a well-placed shot past Christian Abbiati.

Milan looked reformed in the second half, and a five-minute salvo gave them the lead through Brazilian international Pato.

On 48 minutes Kaka did well to set up his fellow countrymen to finish from close range.

Five minutes later, Pato took on Casetti with a great run and finished with a brilliant chip over Abbiati’s head.

Vucinic saved the day for Roma, when he dived to head the leveller for Luciano Spaletti’s men eighteen minutes from time.

Milan remain third in the Serie A table with 34 points, while Roma climb to eleventh on 24.
