Middlesbrough star Mido quashed Turkish reports linking him with a winter move to Besiktas, as he ruled out the option of playing in the Super Lig.

A number of Turkish newspapers, including Haberturk and Gazete Hayat, claimed that the Istanbul-based outfit are ready to make a move for the Egyptian.

"No one has spoken with me about an offer from Besiktas, and I am not interested in playing in Turkey anyways," Mido told FilGoal.com.

"It surprises me why name is usually mentioned in Turkish media. Last season they claimed I was going Fenerbahce as well."

Besiktas, where Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan starred between 2003 and 2005, are keen on signing a striker, following the departure of Brazilian forward Bobo to St. Etienne.

Mido's future at Boro came under scrutiny in late, with the 26-year-old's continuous plea for regular football.

However, the Egypt forward will stay at the Riverside if he couldn’t seal a move to a Premiership side in the near future.

"I am willing to remain in the Premier League. If Boro agreed to sell me to an English club then I will go, otherwise I am staying for now."

Mido is admittedly fed up of playing second fiddle to frontmen Afonso Alves and Sanli Tuncay in Gareth Southgate's selection.
