Hassan Shehata chose Egypt's squad for next weekend's friendly with Kenya, excluding foreign-based stars.

A local-based selection will take on the Kenyans on January 23rd, in preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Pharaohs will be without Essam Al-Hadari, Amr Zaki, Mido, Mohamed Shawky, Hossam Ghaly, Mohamed Zidan, Amir Azmi, Sherif Ekrami, in addition to Gulf-based Hosni Abd-Rabou.

New faces in the squad include Harras Hodoud midfielder Mohamed Al-Herda, Ismaili defender Ahmed Khairi and ENPPI goalkeeper Amer Mohamed.

However, the astonishing disregard of Ahli ace Mohamed Barakat took place once again, despite the midfielders heroics for the Red Devils in late.
