Mido close to Boro exit

Mido declared that his exit from Middlesbrough this month has become imminent as he considers joining Amr Zaki at Wigan.

Despite his initial reluctance to join the Latics, the 25-year-old reconsidered the move as he looks desperate to leave Boro in the near future.

"My exit from Middlesbrough is almost certain, I am 95% sure of that," Mido told FilGoal.com on Thursday.

"I have got some offers, including one from Spain, but I am not yet decided where I'll go.

"I know there are talks with Wigan, and I have to say I would be happy to play alongside Zaki."

Boro's poor league position is admittedly another reason behind Mido's eagerness to leave the club. On the other hand, the in-form Wigan lie seventh in the Premiership table.

The Egypt striker, who expressed his dismay with the backup role at Riverside, could seal a move to JJB in a swap deal involving Hull-bound striker Marlon King.

However, Mido is unlikely to find it easy with Steve Bruce's team, given the successful pairing of Zaki and Emile Heskey upfront.

Happy for Ghaly

Off the record, Mido expressed his gladness for ex-Spurs mate Hossam Ghaly, who sealed a move to Saudi Arabia's Nasr this week.

Ghaly joined the Riyadh giants in a three-year deal, following several months of unsettlement at White Hart Lane.

"I am very happy for Ghaly and I think he made the right move there. It is now more than one-and-a-half year since he has played for Spurs, and that is not good," said Mido.

"I know he was anticipating an offer from England, but unfortunately he received nothing, so he had to move elsewhere.

"Ghaly is a special player who needs to be treated carefully in order to give his best, and I think he could find that with Nasr.

"I have spoken with him and he said he was relieved with the move. I wish him the best of luck and I hope it would help him regain his place with the national team."
