Hamburg Croatian striker Ivica Olic is taking no part in next Friday's Bundesliga encounter against Bayern Munich after being handed a two-match suspension.

The Bayern-bound hitman got into a fist fight with Hoffenheim midfielder Carlos Eduardo minutes before the final whistle of a friendly match that took place in La Manga, Spain on January 14th.

Consequently, The German Football Association (DFB) announced on Friday that both players have been suspended for two competitive matches as well as three exhibitions.

Olic, who's joining German champions Bayern by the end of the ongoing season on a three-year deal, will also miss Hamburg's trip to Karlsruhe.

Stern Challenges

On the other hand, Eduardo's suspension could cost surprise package Hoffenheim dearly, as they are facing stern challenges against Energie Cottbus and Borussia Moenchengladbach respectively.

The Bundesliga leaders have suffered a major blow when scoring sensation Vedad Ibisevic sustained a cruciate ligament injury in the La Manga game, and was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the season.

Eduardo could have been a possible deputy for Ibisevic in the first couple of matches after the German league's stoppage period, but now the newly-promoted side would have to consider other options.
