ليفربول في انتظار مالك جديد؟

Kuwaiti business group ‘Al-Kharafi’ denied that they are holding talks to take over Liverpool Football Club.

British media suggested on Friday that the group’s chairman Nasser Al-Kharafi is leading negotiations over a possible investment in the Merseyside club.

Such reports were fuelled by speculation that Liverpool’s American owners Tom hicks and George Gillett might be considering selling out the club.

However, Al-Kharafi was quoted as confirming by Sky Sports on Saturday that none of these reports is correct.

The American duo of Hicks and Gillett has been enduring a controversial tenure since taking over the club in 2007, where they had several disagreements with manager Rafael Benitez.

The businessmen have also taken out a number of loans on the guarantee of the club’s assets, which weakened Liverpool’s financial status.
