Lierse midfielder Mohamed Abdul-Wahed scored his eighth goal of the season, as the Belgian second division side drew 1-1 with FC Liege.

The former Zamalek man scored Lierse’s only goal of the game from a deflected shot on 26 minutes, before Liege levelled in the 73rd minute.

Egyptian compatriot Ahmed Samir also started the game alongside Abdul-Wahed.

The draw enforces Lierse’s second spot in the Belgian second division on 43 points, two less than leaders St. Truiden.

The winners of the second division are promoted directly to the Belgian Jupiler League, while teams from second to fifth undergo play-offs before deciding the second promoted club.
