The Dervishes signed Sabri earlier this month after becoming increasingly frustrated at Mohamed Sobhi's failure to put in assured displays.
But they were reluctant to register him in their local squad after opening talks with Swiss side Sion over the possibility of luring Al-Hadari to Ismailia.
According to widespread reports, financial differences between Ismaili and Sion led to the deal being cancelled.
However, Ismaili surprisingly opted against keeping hold of Sabri, whom they signed from Iraqi team Talaba.
The three-time Egyptian champions instead decided to complete the three spots available for foreigners by registering Nigerian U-20 striker John Jambo in their squad.
After loaning out Guinean midfielder Samuel Johnson to Kuwait's Kazma, Ismail now have three foreigners at their disposal - Jambo, Iraqi striker Mostafa Karim and Mozambique defender Dario Khan.
