Boujelbene moves to UAE'S Khaleej

Ahli midfielder Anis Boujelbene has joined UAE's Khaleej, who paid his $ 100,000 release clause to acquire his services on a six-month deal, FilGoal.com understands.

Ahli midfielder Anis Boujelbene has joined UAE's Khaleej, who paid his $ 100,000 release clause to acquire his services on a six-month deal, FilGoal.com understands.

In the past few weeks, the Tunisian player was linked with a move to Zamalek, but the deal fell through.

He was also close to rejoining Sfaxien in homeland, but he eventually sealed a move to the Emirati side who lie bottom of the UAE League.

Now Ahli can sign a third foreign player alongside Angolan duo Flavio Amado and Gilberto.

Boujelbene, 30, joined Ahli in the winter of 2007 from Sfaxien, and over the past couple of years he came across as a mediocre footballer.

Questions were raised about his future with the Red Devils when he wasn't named in his team's squad for the FIFA Club World Cup late in December.
